Safe Haven Lighthouse is an afterschool program held at West Lawn UMC that serves the school-age children of our community. Safe Haven Lighthouse is held on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. beginning in September and operates until May. We provide a snack, craft, Bible lesson, games, and homework help. Our program is offered at no charge to the families.
We offer transportation for children from Whitfield Elementary School to our church. All children are welcome in at Safe Haven Lighthouse, they just need transportation to/from our church. We follow the Wilson School District calendar, so when Wilson is in session on a Wednesday, then we have Safe Haven Lighthouse.
If you need further information, please call the church office at 610-678-5611 or complete the form below.

June 2025 Update:
It is difficult to believe that another school year is coming to a close. We have had a wonderful year, and we are looking forward to September when we will continue to serve the children in our community. We have been in ministry for over 23 years! We are blessed to have met and ministered to a lot of children from our neighborhood.
At the end of April, we took another trip to Nova Adventure. The kids really enjoy all the areas at Nova where they can climb and jump. We look forward to going there again next school year. One of our crafts this spring was making a sign using buttons that said, "He is Risen." It is a great reminder to all of us what Jesus has done for us and his great love for us.
On our last Wednesday in May, we had a picnic with food from Chick-fil-A. The adults and kids all enjoy the food from there. We also reviewed questions from our Bible lessons, and played a lot of games. it is a wonderful way to end our school year.
We ask for your prayers for teh enxt school year as we minister to middle-school kids and elementary-aged kids. We pray that Jesus will use us to guide these kids in their spiritual lives.
Shalom,
Lori Madara and Bonnie Rissmiller
