Safe Haven Lighthouse is an afterschool program held at West Lawn UMC that serves the school-age children of our community. Safe Haven Lighthouse is held on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. beginning in September and operates until May. We provide a snack, craft, Bible lesson, games, and homework help. Our program is offered at no charge to the families.
We offer transportation for children from Whitfield Elementary School to our church. All children are welcome in at Safe Haven Lighthouse, they just need transportation to/from our church. We follow the Wilson School District calendar, so when Wilson is in session on a Wednesday, then we have Safe Haven Lighthouse.

March 2025 Update:
Happy (almost) Spring from Safe Haven Lighthouse. We have been busy at SHL, learning the Books of the Bible, our Bible lessons, and our prayer time. The year is quickly moving by.
In January we took a field trip to Nova Adventure Park in Muhlenberg Township. The kids had a wonderful time! The adults did too, watching the kids participate in the many different activities. The smiles on their faces are always worth it.
As leaders of this group, we are very blessed to be a part of these kids’ lives. We hope they learn as much from us as we learn from them. We all appreciate our safe and warm church where we meet each week. This is a safe, inviting, and loving space for all of us.
We will keep you updated on our next adventures this spring!
