Building Community, One Breakfast at a Time
Every Sunday, November through the end of March, West Lawn United Methodist Church invites the community to a place where people can connect, friendships can grow, and everyone feels a sense of belonging. Starting at 8:30 AM, come and enjoy a free hot, delicious breakfast featuring fluffy pancakes, savory sausage, and warm hospitality. It’s the perfect way to start your Sunday.
After just one month of opening our Raffauf Community Center to our congregation and neighbors, our mission is already being fulfilled: building community one breakfast at a time! What began as a simple idea has quickly become a lively Sunday morning tradition. Each week, more than 200 people of all ages fill the space — parents with kids, friends catching up after a long week, and newcomers from our surrounding neighborhood eager to connect. Some stop in for a quick cup of hot coffee and a donut, while others settle in with a full plate of pancakes and sausage and stay for conversation that lasts well beyond breakfast.
The sounds of laughter, the smell of fresh coffee, and the sight of families and friends gathering around tables remind us why this ministry matters. With every shared meal, new connections are made, familiar bonds grow deeper, and our community becomes stronger and more vibrant. Remember, you can skip making breakfast on Sunday mornings! Come to church a little earlier and enjoy a free and generous spread of pancakes, sausage, donuts, milk, and juice. You’ll often find extra treats baked with love by members of our congregation, adding an extra layer of warmth to the morning.
Our Community Center doors open bright and early at 8:30 AM every Sunday, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed meal before worship. This indoor gathering space will continue through the end of March 2026, until the weather is warm enough to resume outdoor snacks. Come for the food; stay for the fellowship and faith. We can’t wait to welcome you.
