Not That Kind of Peace - Pastor Chris (6.14.26)

Jesus’ words in Matthew 10—“I came not to bring peace, but a sword”—can feel startling, especially from the Prince of Peace. But Jesus is not calling us to violence or unnecessary conflict. He is showing us that genuine faithfulness will sometimes create tension in a world shaped by different values. Following Christ is more than comfort or an hour on Sunday; it reorders our priorities and transforms our lives. That kind of change is not always easy, but it is full of grace. When we surrender our carefully protected lives to Jesus, we do not lose ourselves. We discover the life we were created to live.
