WLUMC's  Vacation Bible School is complete.
We had an amazing week of following Jesus hear, there and everywhere
as we helped all kids move forward on their own journey of faith!
Next summer, 2024, we will again invite you and your children to move into the Very Best Summer by attending West Lawn Church Vacation Bible School Program! At VBS, your child will learn to follow Jesus here, there, and everywhere! Whether they’re preschool or elementary aged, kids will love our engaging, hands-on program. While participating at games, storytelling, crafts, science and snack stations, children will learn biblical truths that will stay with them, no matter where life takes them. By the end of the week, all boys and girls will be inspired to: DO What He Says, BELIEVE Who He Is, LOVE Who He Loves, and GO Where He Leads.

Our preschool children, age 3 and 4, as well as those children who just completed Kindergarten, will gather at 6:00 p.m. in the Raffauf Community Center. Their program will end at the same location, at 8:15 p.m.

All elementary-aged children (those who just completed Grades 1-5), will gather in the Sanctuary each night at 6:00 p.m. Their program will end at the same location, at 8:30 p.m.
Commonly Asked Questions:
  • Can I pick my child up early on any given night? Yes, you can pick up your child early; although,  to be honest, very few people do! The kids end up begging to stay to the end where they sing and dance. No one wants to miss the games or snack stations!
  • Can I stay with my child? You can stay with you child the entire time, but wewill need copies of your criminal and child abuse clearances (we can get you that paperwork if you don't already have them.) We will also ask that you attend our team meeting on May 21 (6:30 PM, Community Center) so that everyone is on the same page with how things run, etc. You will get a name badge and adult servant t-shirt to wear. You will not have to be responsible for any other children other than your own, but you will be grouped into a crew with another leader and other kids. We love when new parents stay - it makes it super more special for your child and we get to meet others in our community.
  • Can I help at VBS even though I do not attend West Lawn UMC? Yes, we'd love for you to join our team.  We will need copies of your criminal and child abuse clearances (we can get you that paperwork if you don't already have them.) We will also ask that you attend our team meeting on May 21 (6:30 PM, Community Center) so that everyone is on the same page with how things run, etc. You will get a name badge and adult servant t-shirt to wear.
  • Does my child need to attend VBS every night?  No, your child does not need to attend every night. You can attend as many or few as you would like. It is common for the youngest ones to miss one night - they just need a break! We would suggest you NOT miss Wednesday night - that is when we have some super special treats for them. The final night, Thursday, is also special, with a final program for the families to attend, and ice cream at the end of the night!
  • What is the cost to attend VBS at West Lawn UMC? There is no cost at all. We do take an voluntary offering each night, and collect donations each night, but these are all optional!
