West Lawn UMC Scholarship Fund

Celebrating Our 2026 Scholarship Recipients
The West Lawn United Methodist Church Scholarship Endowment Fund provides financial support to students as they continue their education and prepare for their future callings. We are grateful for the faithful generosity that makes this ministry possible. This year, the Scholarship Team awarded scholarships to nine students from our church family.

We congratulate the following 2026 scholarship recipients:
Matthew Breisch                     Norah Hoffert
Jakob Hoffert                          Grace Jentes
Patience King                          Ben Rada
Campbell Ricketts                  Charlotte Rismiller
Madelyn Rismiller

As a congregation, we are proud of these students and thankful for the ways they are growing academically, personally, and spiritually. We ask the church family to keep them in your prayers as they continue their educational journeys.
Thank you as well to everyone who supports the WLUMC Scholarship Endowment Fund through gifts, planning, and prayer. Your generosity continues to bless future generations and helps invest in the lives of students preparing for college, careers, and ministry.

If you would like to support the Scholarship Endowment Fund, donations may be sent to the church office. Please note “Scholarship Endowment Fund” on your check or envelope.

Applications for 2027 will open after the New Year

West Lawn United Methodist Church is pleased to offer the WLUMC Scholarship Fund.

This endowed fund exists to support members of our church family who are pursuing higher education. Through the faithful generosity of those who established and contributed to this fund, we are able to invest in the next generation of leaders, servants, and disciples.

Scholarship consideration is given to WLUMC members who are enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a college or university program. Primary emphasis is directed toward students pursuing careers in ministry, religious studies, or other church-related vocations. However, up to one-third of annual awards may be granted to students preparing for careers in other academic or professional fields.

We are grateful that this fund allows us to encourage both those sensing a call into vocational ministry and those preparing to serve Christ faithfully in other professions.

Applicants will complete the official scholarship application and provide:
• Information regarding their academic program and service involvement
• A description of their church involvement
• A statement of faith and reflection on God’s will for their life

Scholarship awards are distributed for the Fall semesters.
All applications must be submitted by May 1.

If you are a college student — or the parent of one — please review the information carefully and encourage eligible students to apply. As a congregation, we are honored to invest in the spiritual, academic, and vocational formation of our young adults. This is one way we live out our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
